Sector Update: Tech Stocks Advance Premarket Friday

09:12 AM EDT, 09/04/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Technology stocks were advancing premarket Friday, with the State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) up 0.3% and the State Street SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) 0.2% higher. Samsara (IOT) shares were up 14% after the company posted higher fiscal Q2 non-GAAP earnings and revenue, and lifted its fiscal 2027 guidance. United Microelectronics (UMC) stock was up more than 2% after the company reported sales of 25.04 billion New Taiwan dollars ($790.6 million) in August, up 30.71% from a year earlier. Nvidia (NVDA) has increased its equity investments more than ten-fold in the past year to $99 billion, as of July 26, CNBC reported. Nvidia shares were 0.9% higher pre-bell.
