Ocugen Doses First Patient in Trial of Potential Eye Disease Drug

07:35 AM EDT, 09/01/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Ocugen Inc (OCGN) has dosed its first patient in a phase 3 trial of its OCU410 modifier gene therapy as a potential treatment for geographic atrophy secondary to dry age-related macular degeneration, the company said Tuesday. The drug is designed as a one-time subretinal gene therapy, the company said. The placebo-controlled study has enrolled 237 patients, the company said. The company plans to file a biologics license application for the therapy in 2028, it said.
