Rocket Cos. named Alessio Sanfilippo as chief executive of the online brokerage platform Redfin.
Sanfilippo joins Redfin from Meta Platforms, where he served as vice president of insights for the virtual reality business Reality Labs. There, he led teams across data science and engineering, as well as user research to build the market for Meta's AI glasses.
He previously led data and user research for WhatsApp. Before joining Meta, he led data and analytics at Intuit, where he overlapped with Rocket Chief Executive Varun Krishna.
He has also worked at GoSeek, Hotwire and United Airlines.
Sanfilippo is succeeding Glenn Kelman, who stepped down as chief executive in January. Krishna has been overseeing Redfin in the interim.
Kelman, who worked at Redfin for 20 years, said in a LinkedIn post that leaving was his decision and he was hoping to move on to a different field.
