Shiba Inu exchange outflows rebound after 42% drop, but inflows stay higher

Shiba Inu’s exchange outflows recently experienced a sharp decline of 42%, reflecting reduced withdrawals of tokens from trading platforms. The metric partially rebounded shortly after, but this recovery has not yet shifted the broader outlook regarding SHIB’s exchange activity. While the normalization has eased immediate concerns, the changes remain modest.

Recent exchange metrics

Latest figures show that exchange outflows reached approximately 172.06 billion SHIB, marking a slim 0.78% increase in the trailing 24-hour period. Despite this uptick, inflows onto exchanges still outpace outflows, with about 200.85 billion SHIB being deposited. Netflow remains positive at around 28.79 billion SHIB, suggesting that more tokens are entering rather than leaving centralized exchanges.

A higher level of inflows compared to outflows could mean a larger portion of SHIB may be available on the liquid market, potentially raising the risk of increased selling activity. However, at present, overall volumes and ratios do not indicate a substantial sell-off scenario for SHIB holders.

The increase in exchange outflows of less than 1% is modest. Meanwhile, exchange reserves registered a marginal rise of 0.03%, and exchange inflows grew by just 0.61%. These figures point to stable exchange activity instead of a dramatic move toward or away from platforms.

Medium-term trends and price analysis

Deeper insight comes from the seven-day mean exchange outflow metric, which is up 96% compared to its earlier reading. This jump signals that, on average, larger blocks of SHIB are being withdrawn from exchanges, changing the negative perception generated by the prior plunge in outflows.

The price of SHIB is currently trading at $0.00000510. The token remains under pressure, residing below its 200-day moving average, which stands at $0.00000571. Short-term support is seen at the $0.00000500 level, providing a key buffer zone for the asset.

Metric Latest Value Change
Exchange Outflows 172.06B SHIB +0.78%
Exchange Inflows 200.85B SHIB +0.61%
Seven-day Mean Outflow Up 96%
SHIB Price $0.00000510
200-day MA $0.00000571

If SHIB were to lose its $0.00000500 support and exchange inflows surge past outflows, bearish momentum could intensify rapidly. For now, the significant drop in outflows appears largely reversed, but not enough evidence exists to suggest a strong bullish shift, since inflows remain higher and outflow recovery is limited.

With the seven-day mean outflow up 96%, the average withdrawal size has grown, softening earlier concerns raised by the sharp decrease in daily outflows.
