Qatar extends force majeure suspension period of liquefied natural gas supply to Italy’s Edison until early November

Edison, in a statement confirming the previous regulatory notice, said that QatarEnergy has extended the force majeure period for its liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply to Italy's Edison until early November. The extension additionally affects five shipments originally scheduled for delivery to the Adriatic LNG terminal in Italy. From April to early November, a total of 29 shipments will be impacted, corresponding to approximately 3.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas. As of August 28, Edison had already completed source replacement for 21 shipments, equivalent to around 2.0 billion cubic meters of gas. Edison stated it will continue to monitor the situation closely. Note: Edison and QatarEnergy have a 25-year gas supply contract, with an annual supply volume of 6.4 billion cubic meters.
