According to data released by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), as of the week ending August 25, speculative net long positions in NYMEX West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil increased by 538 contracts from the previous week, reaching a total of 104,573 contracts—the highest level in the past four weeks.
