PONS reaches $0.142 ATH after 29% surge – Can buyers defend $0.09?

PONS surged by 29% over the last 24 hours, breaking through all of the previous highs. The surge ended the 9-day period of 9 days of consolidation between $0.028 and $0.04.

Following Pons [PONS] bulls regaining control, the price then went on to break through $0.06 and $0.07 before going on to accelerate past $0.10 without much resistance.

The price had advanced about five times the amount that it did from its lowest point when the new ATH was reached. The first heavy selling occurred at that level and pushed the price down towards $0.112811 as traders were locking in their profits.

Meanwhile, volume expanded exponentially during the breakout. Thus, participation was increasing alongside the advance in price. However, RSI decreased from an excessive reading greater than 80 to 70.6, which eased the pressure on the advance.

Looking forward, $0.142534 is now established as resistance; holding $0.090–$0.110 would preserve the stronger structure. Otherwise, a deeper retreat instead brings $0.060–$0.070 back into focus, where the breakout first gained real traction.

Early PONS exit misses over $2M in gains

In addition to the early trade shown above, another instance of the fast-moving nature of PONS can be illustrated by examining the effects of the rally on its token value.

One wallet purchased approximately 19.98 million PONS using 0.25 ETH worth approximately $610 before selling the entire position at 0.47 ETH.

The exit returned about $1,166, locking in roughly $556 in profit while closing the trade completely. More interestingly, the PONS price continued rising. As a result, the move lifted those same 19.98 million tokens’ valuation to roughly $2.2 million.

More importantly, the difference captures how quickly PONS repriced after early holders sold. This is because the accelerating demand transformed relatively small initial positions into multimillion-dollar holdings.

PONS volume builds a keyholder cost base

Beyond individual trades, PONS’s broader activity shows that participation had already built substantially before its latest price expansion.

Meanwhile, PONS traded nearly $2.85 billion on the Robin Hood exchange alone. This accounted for roughly $25 billion total in just one month, which is approximately 11% of Robin Hood’s entire DEX volume.

The daily turnover for PONS peaked above $150 million in July, with gradual declines to approximately $20-$60 million throughout the remainder of August.

That month-long activity matters because it shows PONS developed an active trading base before price reached its current range. Following the rally, recent acquisition volume now clusters around $0.090–$0.110.

With that said, since the price has been rising as a result of this rally, all recent acquisition volume currently falls into the $0.090-$0.110 cluster.

Therefore, many of the new investors have already come close to reaching break-even on their investment or are at least making a slight profit.

Final Summary

  • Pons surged 29% to a $0.1425 ATH, leaving $0.090–$0.110 as the key holder support zone.
  • PONS generated $2.85 billion in DEX volume, while its rapid repricing turned one early exit into a $2 million missed gain.

The Federal Reserve's most closely watched inflation indicator—the Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) Price Index—unexpectedly stabilized in July. The second estimate of the U.S. second-quarter GDP, released on the same day, maintained an annualized growth rate of 1.5%, but both consumer spending and business investment were revised upward from the initial figures. However, actual consumer spending in July was flat month-over-month, indicating that the economy cooled after strong growth earlier in the summer.
