Market Chatter: Magnum Ice Cream Set to Add Three Independent Directors to Ben & Jerry's Board

MT newswireMT newswire2026/08/26 12:11
08:11 AM EDT, 08/26/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Magnum Ice Cream (MICC) is set to appoint three new independent directors to Ben & Jerry's board as part of a restructuring, The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday, citing an employee note from Ben & Jerry's Chief Executive Jochanan Senf. The company selected Nora Benavidez, Michael McAfee and Eva Schulte to its board following a prolonged governance dispute involving Unilever and Magnum over Ben & Jerry's social activism and mission, according to the report. The restructuring comes after term-limit changes, and the departure of several independent directors left Ben & Jerry's board with two members, the report added. Magnum Ice Cream did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment. (Market Chatter news is derived from conversations with market professionals globally.
