Ripple (XRP) Tapped the Bond Market. Here’s the Latest
Ripple’s expansion into traditional financial markets has taken another step, according to crypto researcher BankXRP, who claims Ripple Prime has raised $275 million through a private bond sale.
The reported transaction places attention on the financial structure of Ripple’s brokerage business and its growing connection to institutional capital markets.
BankXRP highlighted the reported financing in a post on X, stating that Ripple Prime, formerly known as Hidden Road following Ripple’s $1.25 billion acquisition of the company, completed the private bond sale with an 8.25% coupon and a 2031 maturity date.
The researcher also noted that Kroll assigned the business a BBB rating, which is the first instance of a crypto-owned broker-dealer reaching investment-grade status.
Ripple Prime Reportedly Secures $275 Million
According to BankXRP, the $275 million financing gives Ripple Prime access to debt capital while establishing a credit profile. The post characterized the transaction as a significant development for Ripple’s institutional financial operations.
The attached Bloomberg screenshot identifies Ripple Prime CIV US BD Holdco LLC as a special purpose entity. The company description states that the entity was formed to issue debt securities to repay existing credit facilities, refinance indebtedness, and support acquisition purposes.
The information provides additional context for BankXRP’s post, although the screenshot itself does not display the specific bond terms cited in the researcher’s commentary.
BankXRP stated that the reported notes carry an 8.25% coupon and mature in 2031. The researcher also emphasized the reported BBB rating from Kroll, presenting it as an important milestone for a company operating within the cryptocurrency sector.
8.25% Coupon and 2031 Maturity
The reported 8.25% coupon is the annual interest rate attached to the bonds, while the 2031 maturity indicates when the principal would become due under the reported structure. BankXRP focused on these terms as evidence that Ripple Prime has entered the conventional debt market while retaining its connection to the digital-asset industry.
The researcher’s post also described the financing as Ripple having “tapped the bond market,” linking the transaction to the company’s broader expansion following its acquisition of Hidden Road.
Questions Over Ripple Prime’s Financial Disclosure
Lam further raised a question about financial transparency, asking whether Ripple Prime would make detailed financial statements publicly available.
BankXRP’s post therefore places the reported $275 million financing within a wider discussion about Ripple Prime’s access to institutional debt, its credit standing, and the financial structure of Ripple’s brokerage operations.
