XRP Mentioned In a Conversation With Vice President JD Vance On U.S. Debt
XRP entered a high-level conversation involving U.S. Vice President JD Vance, the nation’s debt, a proposed national crypto reserve, and the future of digital assets.
Crypto Dyl News highlighted the exchange after Newsmax host Carl Higbie specifically mentioned Bitcoin and XRP while questioning Vance about the role crypto could eventually play in strengthening the U.S. financial position.
XRP Mentioned in Discussion on U.S. Debt
Crypto Dyl News reported on X that Higbie referenced President Donald Trump’s comments about a potential crypto reserve containing Bitcoin, XRP, and other digital assets. He then asked whether anything was considered to help address the country’s debt.
Vance did not say that XRP would be used to settle or pay off the U.S. national debt. Instead, he pointed to measures the administration is pursuing to improve the relationship between economic growth and the country’s debt.
He discussed a sovereign wealth fund and said Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has been working on a plan designed to help the U.S. economy grow faster than its debt. Vance acknowledged that the debt remains high but said the administration believes it is making progress.
Vance also criticized the high cost of servicing the debt and said the administration inherited a situation in which debt was growing faster than U.S. GDP.
Vance Calls CLARITY Act Very Important
The discussion then moved directly to crypto regulation. Higbie said the CLARITY Act could create significant opportunities for investors once it becomes law and asked Vance when the legislation could clear the Senate.
Vance said he had hoped the bill would pass before the August recess. He explained that some Republican senators remain opposed while some Democrats are also delaying the legislation. He said the administration needs to work with lawmakers from both parties to secure enough support for a vote.
Vance described the CLARITY Act as “a very important piece of legislation” and said the administration is working on it every day.
He also explained why the White House believes clearer crypto rules are necessary. According to Vance, crypto and blockchain companies have reached a stage where they need defined rules to operate in the United States. He said companies want to follow regulations but need clear guidance from federal authorities.
Crypto Dyl News Highlights XRP’s Position
Crypto Dyl News presented the exchange as significant for XRP holders because XRP was mentioned in the proposed U.S. crypto reserve during a discussion involving the vice president.
The post also pointed to Ripple’s engagement with policymakers and the administration’s continued push for crypto legislation. However, Vance’s remarks did not confirm that XRP will become part of a national reserve or help reduce the national debt.
His comments focused on economic growth, debt management, and the need for clarity. Vance’s positive assessment of the CLARITY Act adds additional context for the ongoing debate over the future of digital assets in the United States.
