TJX's HomeGoods Records 'Standout' Quarter -- Market Talk
Dow Jones2026/08/19 23:111906 ET [Dow Jones]--HomeGoods was a bright spot for TJX in the latest period, delivering what Jefferies analysts call a "standout" quarter. HomeGoods' same-store sales grew 7% in the period as its margins expanded, with management highlighting strength across virtually all categories from seasonal and decor to consumables and higher-ticket home categories, the analysts say. That broad-based strength suggests the business "is benefiting from both strong execution and weaker competitive positioning in home retail," they say. "As a result, mgmt sounded very bullish to us on HomeGoods' go-forward opportunity." (kelly.cloonan@wsj.com)
