web3: Jurassic Finance advances dinosaur fossil tokenization on Solana
Jurassic Finance is advancing a rare RWA experiment on Solana: turning a museum-grade Triceratops skull into a tokenized asset. The project plans to raise 660,000 USDC to acquire this fossil, known as Deaton, and establish a holding structure around it.
After the fundraising began on August 17 at 4:00 pm (UTC+8), nearly 300,000 dollars were raised in the first 30 minutes. At the time of publication, 365,499 dollars have been raised, reaching 55% of the target. Jurassic Finance CEO Aleksandar Pavlovic also stated on X that the early response exceeded expectations.
Tokenization Structure
Jurassic Finance’s approach is to create an SPV for each fossil, with this entity holding the physical asset, and then issue corresponding SPL tokens on Solana. For Deaton, the project plans to use $TRCH1 as the token code, allowing more participants to share the economic benefits of this high-value collectible.
Fossil Assets On-Chain

This Triceratops skull was excavated from the Hell Creek Formation in Slope County, North Dakota, with a bone completeness of about 60% to 65%, including all three original horns. Scientists estimate it is about 66 million years old, dating back to the late Cretaceous period. According to the project, the museum will be responsible for exhibition, storage, insurance, and maintenance, while token holders will gain corresponding economic exposure.
Solana Continues to Experiment with Long-Tail Assets
Vibhu Norby, Chief Product Officer of Solana Foundation, also recently mentioned that markets for collectibles, luxury goods, watches, tickets, and fossils—so-called long-tail assets—are expanding on Solana. This fundraising effort by Jurassic Finance continues Solana's exploration of alternative asset tokenization and extends the scope of RWAs from bonds and real estate to more niche collectible markets.
