Germany ZEW Survey - Economic Sentiment improves more than expected to 34.2 in August
German ZEW Survey - Economic Sentiment arrives at 34.2 in August, beating the estimates of 30.0 and the July reading of 26.3.
The ZEW Survey - Current Situation improves to -61.1 from the previous reading of -77.6. The data was already expected to arrive higher at -68.8.
In the Eurozone, the ZEW Survey - Economic Sentiment also improved significantly. The sentiment data arrived at 31.4, higher than estimates of 25.4 and the prior release of 23.4.
Market reaction
No major reaction is seen in the Euro (EUR) following the German ZEW Survey - Economic Sentiment data release. At press time, EUR/USD trades marginally lower at around 1.1575.
