Spain’s trade deficit widened to 7.69 billion euros in June, with imports hitting a record high

⑴ Spain's trade deficit for June expanded from 3.59 billion euros in the same period last year to 7.69 billion euros, with import growth far outpacing exports. Imports rose by 15.7% year-on-year to 43.23 billion euros, marking a new historical high, and the main driver was a 43.8% increase in energy product purchases. ⑵ Imports of non-chemical semi-manufactured goods, food, beverages and tobacco, consumer goods, and automobiles all recorded significant growth. Exports increased by 5.3% year-on-year to 35.55 billion euros, with exports of energy products, raw materials, and non-chemical semi-manufactured goods seeing the largest gains.
