Kaiser Aluminum named Fred Stephan president and chief executive officer effective Nov. 1, succeeding Keith A. Harvey.
Stephan most recently served as chief operating officer of Amcor's Global Flexible Packaging Solutions business, Kaiser said Monday. In that role he was responsible for overseeing manufacturing, research and development and commercial operations across more than 200 sites in over 35 countries.
Previously, he was president of Bemis North America and held senior leadership positions at Johns Manville and General Electric, including serving as president and CEO of GE Lighting Systems.
Stephan will also join Kaiser Aluminum's board when he takes over and will be based in Franklin, Tenn. Harvey will become executive chairman and remain on the board, while serving as a special adviser to Stephan through Oct. 31, 2027.
Harvey has led Kaiser Aluminum as CEO since July 2020 and has served as chairman since January 2025. He has spent 45 years with the company.
The company said the transition follows a comprehensive CEO succession process and is intended to provide continuity as Kaiser Aluminum executes its strategy.
