Anthropic PBC has disclosed to potential investors that the company's revenue in the second quarter increased by at least 14 times compared to the same period last year.
According to Bloomberg, Anthropic achieved preliminary second-quarter revenue of over $11.5 billion, compared to $787 million in the same quarter of 2025 and $4.73 billion in the first quarter of this year. Meanwhile, Anthropic posted a positive adjusted operating profit for the second quarter.
As the company competes with long-time rival OpenAI for enterprise clients, Anthropic is experiencing rapid growth. Once seen as a follower in the artificial intelligence race, Anthropic’s software is now increasingly being adopted by professionals to streamline a range of tasks, including programming.
Earlier media reports stated that Anthropic’s annualized revenue surpassed $47 billion in May. According to a previous article from Wallstreetcn, OpenAI’s annualized revenue exceeded $40 billion, though the calculation methods of the two companies may differ.
In July, sources revealed that Anthropic is meeting with investors in preparation for a potential large-scale IPO. Anthropic has secretly filed for listing and is working with Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, and JPMorgan to advance the IPO process.
Anthropic hopes to leverage the strong fundraising capabilities of the public markets to maintain its edge over competitors like OpenAI. Currently, AI companies are investing tens of billions of dollars to develop cutting-edge artificial intelligence models.
The AI race has also fueled an uptick in the IPO market. According to data compiled by Bloomberg, IPOs have raised a total of $256.4 billion so far this year, excluding special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs) and other financial instruments. This is the highest single-year total since 2021.
