Amazon shares gained 8% in aftermarket trading following the company reporting significantly increased revenue from its cloud computing business--a bright spot for investors fretting about the scale of the artificial-intelligence buildout.
Sales by AWS, a major profit driver, grew 37% year-over-year, its fastest growth rate since 2022 in the company's first quarter results this year.
