Stock futures moved higher Thursday as personal consumption expenditures price index data for June showed inflation softened. Investors also weighed a batch of Big Tech earnings reports, which could help power a rebound after the previous session's Federal Reserve-fueled selloff.

Microsoft advanced 9.4% in premarket trading after the software giant reported strong fiscal fourth-quarter results and said its capital expenditures guidance for the year remained the same, easing fears about overspending on artificial intelligence.

Meta Platforms dropped 10% after the Facebook parent missed Wall Street's second-quarter earnings target and failed to get investors to buy in on its AI spending plans.

Samsung Electronics posted strong earnings with a 1,814% year-over-year surge in operating profit, record revenue, and remarks suggesting supply shortages will last through 2028. Rival Micron gained 6.6% and was set to snap a four-day losing streak in which it has dropped 25%.

Lam Research jumped 13% after the chip equipment maker reported better-than-expected earnings and revenue for the second quarter as AI continued driving up demand.

Qualcomm fell 3.4% after the chip maker's fiscal third-quarter earnings fell short of Wall Street estimates.

SpaceX advanced 3%. The U.S. Space Force awarded Elon Musk's rocket and AI company a $1.6 billion contract for 18 Falcon 9 launches. All are expected to be completed by the end of 2027.

Nvidia added 2.2% even as Microsoft opted to hold its capex spending steady and Meta only raised the lower end of its AI spending forecast.

Carvana dropped 8% after the used-car retailer reported in-line second-quarter earnings and issued full-year guidance that failed to meet Wall Steet's forecast, leaving investors confused.

Alnylam Pharmaceuticals sank 22% after the company lowered its full-year product revenue outlook to $4.7 billion to $5.1 billion, down from its previous expectation of $4.9 billion to $5.3 billion.

Teladoc Health dropped 20% after guiding for a loss of 30 cents to 20 cents a share in the third quarter, much wider than Wall Street's expectation for a loss of 18 cents. Teladoc also forecast a wider-than-expected loss for the full year.

MarketAxess Holdings surged 30% to $163.27 after it was announced the company would be acquired by Intercontinental Exchange for $167 a share in cash.

Apple declined 0.9% with the iPhone maker scheduled to report fiscal third-quarter earnings after the closing bell. The company has been flirting with a $5 trillion market value this week.

Amazon.com rose 3.5%. The company is also due to report earnings after the close on Thursday with results from its Amazon Web Services segment in focus.
