Vale's EBITDA in Q2 increased by 19% year-on-year

Vale reported a formal EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization) of $4.1 billion for the second quarter, marking a 19% year-on-year increase driven by higher product prices and increased sales. During the quarter, the company’s sales volumes for iron ore, copper, and nickel were 2 million tons (up 3%), 9 thousand tons (up 10%), and 3 thousand tons (up 7%) respectively compared to the same period last year.
