Bhutan Gelupu Mindfulness City appoints 3iQ to manage part of its bitcoin reserves

According to Cointelegraph, Bhutan's Gelephu Mindfulness City has appointed the Canadian asset management company 3iQ to manage part of its Bitcoin reserves, aiming to promote the development of a digital asset investment hub. 3iQ will manage an undisclosed amount of Bitcoin to support Gelephu's growth, and will establish operations locally, invest in talent, and provide training. In December 2025, Bhutan announced it would allocate up to 10,000 BTC from national holdings to support Gelephu. This latest agreement is a follow-up stage of the plan, but the parties have not disclosed the specific amount to be managed, custody arrangements, or whether lending and derivative strategies will be permitted.
