Manhattan Associates Shares Gain on Boost to Guidance, 2Q Earnings Beat

Shares of Manhattan Associates rose after the company lifted its full-year guidance and reported second-quarter revenue growth ahead of Wall Street expectations.

Shares were up 8.8% at $183.00 after Tuesday's bell, after closing up 5.6% at $168.17. At close, the stock was down 3% year to date.

The maker of supply-chain and industry software said it now expects full-year revenue to grow between 7% and 8% to between $1.16 billion and $1.17 billion. It forecast adjusted earnings between $5.44 and $5.50 a share.

The company had previously forecast 6% to 7% revenue growth and adjusted earnings between $5.29 and $5.37 a share. Analysts polled by FactSet are expecting adjusted earnings of $5.37 a share on $1.15 billion in revenue.

Manhattan Associates on Tuesday reported a second-quarter profit of $50.4 million, or 85 cents a share, compared with a profit of $56.8 million, or 93 cents a share, a year earlier.

Stripping out certain one-time items, adjusted earnings were $1.39 a share. Analysts were expecting $1.32 a share.

Revenue rose to $297.8 million from $272.4 million. Analysts had been expecting $287.7 million in revenue.

Services revenue grew to $133 million from $128.9 million, while cloud subscriptions rose to $126.7 million from $100.4 million.

The company ended the quarter with $2.47 billion in remaining performance obligations.
