Glonghui, July 29|Australian stock index futures indicate a higher open, following gains in the US stock market driven by optimism over the US and Iran moving toward peace talks. Before the market opened, ASX futures rose 0.8%; however, this data appeared before the US military stated it had intercepted ballistic missiles launched by Iran in an attack on US forces. So far this week, Australia's S&P/ASX 200 index has increased by 2.0%. Ahead of the opening, iron ore miner Rio Tinto raised its interim dividend after reporting a 47% increase in first-half profits. Woodside Energy reported a 28% rise in quarterly revenue. Gold miner Northern Star said it will release its annual forecast next month.

Suppliers have stated bluntly that even if buyers are willing to pay a premium, inventory may still not be available.
