LVMH Might Have Turned a Corner -- Market Talk
Dow Jones2026/07/28 05:430542 GMT - LVMH's improving sales and profitability suggest the Louis Vuitton owner might have reached an inflection point, Citi analysts say in a note. Investor concerns that the French luxury conglomerate's biggest brands were underperforming hit its shares over the past two years, Citi says. But organic sales growth at LVMH's core fashion-and-leather goods business accelerated in the second quarter from the first, and the group's operating profit for the first half as a whole beat expectations, the analysts say. "The stabilization in earnings since [last year's third-quarter] sales print last October, together with resilient [first-half] sales outside the Middle East, particularly among U.S. and Asian consumers, supports our view that LVMH has reached an inflection point in sales momentum and profitability," they add.
