Export inspections of U.S. corn are off from the prior week, according to data from the U.S. Agricultural Department.

In its latest report Monday, the USDA says that corn-export inspections totaled 1.49 million metric tons for the week ended July 23. That's down from this time the previous week, as well as this time last year, according to USDA data. Total corn inspections remain ahead of last year's pace, at a marketing-year total of 75.32 million tons currently--up nearly 22% from this time last year.

Soybean-export inspections were 348,850 tons for the week, which is up from 319,022 tons at the same time last week. It's lower than this time last year, when the metric totaled 427,807 tons. Wheat inspections for this week were 394,875 tons, up from 229,761 tons last week and higher than 290,272 tons seen at this time last year.

Mexico was the top destination for both U.S. corn and soybeans for the week, while Bangladesh was the top destination for U.S. wheat.

CBOT grain futures were lower in morning trade, with most-active corn futures down 2.8%, soybeans down 3.2%, and wheat off 1.8%.
