Glonghui, July 26 — According to Yonhap News Agency, Korean President Lee Jae-myung stated: “Korea and the United States should expand the scope of cooperation. It should not be limited to the long-standing security alliance relationship, but should also include the fields of technology, innovation, and startups.” He emphasized that combining the world-class venture capital strength and global network of the United States with Korea’s advanced technological expertise and manufacturing competitiveness will create a new group of global innovative enterprises. Lee Jae-myung also called on American venture capital firms to enhance cooperation and expand investment in Korea, while promising to build the world’s most attractive environment for investment and entrepreneurship. He stated that Korea will reform its visa system to better attract overseas entrepreneurial talent, and will lay the foundation for establishing a collaborative system among domestic and foreign enterprises, research institutions, and investors. He also pledged to help Korean startups grow into globally competitive companies by connecting privately and government-managed funds.
