Deedy: AI chip startups challenge Nvidia through six different paths

Anthropic investor Deedy pointed out that multiple AI chip startups are challenging NVIDIA's dominance in data movement efficiency through six differentiated technological approaches. These include eliminating DRAM (Groq, which has been acquired by NVIDIA for $20 billion), eliminating interconnects (Cerebras, which has already gone public with a market capitalization of about $4.8 billion), eliminating the separation of compute and memory (d-Matrix), eliminating compute-centric server architectures (Majestic), eliminating general-purpose design (Etched, Taalas, MatX), and eliminating $400 million lithography machines (Substrate).
