AFX Trade preliminarily confirms coordinated social engineering and infrastructure attack
Foresight News reported that AFX Trade stated in a tweet that a preliminary investigation shows it previously suffered a coordinated social engineering and infrastructure breach. The attackers appear to have gained access through the development environment, then escalated privileges to internal build infrastructure and validator systems. The current priority is to protect affected users, and the team is verifying impacted balances, recovering funds, and preparing a structured remediation plan.
According to a previous Foresight News report, PeckShield monitoring indicates that the AFX Trade Arbitrum cross-chain bridge was hacked, resulting in the loss of approximately 24 million USDC.
