Foresight News reports that a certain exchange has published a blog post introducing its preparations in post-quantum cryptography. The exchange states it will advance relevant work in three areas: first, to protect approximately 99.9% of custodial assets, it will develop a post-quantum version of its key management system, CoreKMS, called PQ-CoreKMS, with plans to deliver an automated post-quantum signature workflow within one year; second, in August this year, it will collaborate with Stanford University to convene Bitcoin core developers, cryptographers, and researchers for the first post-quantum migration seminar; third, as a founding member of the Bitcoin Security Consortium, it will donate to funds supporting Bitcoin developer research on quantum-related issues and invest engineering resources in open-source initiatives such as BIP-360. Other consortium members include BlackRock, Fidelity Digital Assets, and other institutions.

The article was written by the exchange’s Chief Information Security Officer Jeff Lunglhofer, who pointed out that large-scale quantum computers capable of breaking existing cryptographic technology will eventually emerge. Although the exact timeline is uncertain, relevant preparations must begin now. The independent advisory committee previously established by the exchange believes that while the threat is not imminent, the industry should start preparing immediately, and the key challenge lies at the operational level, such as user migration and decentralized protocol upgrades.

"Even with money, it's unattainable"! Supply-demand imbalance intensifies, indium phosphide experiences the largest price surge in history

The explosive growth in demand for AI computing power has led to a severe shortage of indium phosphide (InP) substrates and epitaxial wafers, with prices in the fourth quarter expected to surge by more than 10%, marking the largest single increase in history. Prices have already been raised several times consecutively. Bottlenecks in upstream substrate production capacity are difficult to resolve quickly, making the supply-demand imbalance hard to address in the short term. Suppliers have stated bluntly that even if buyers are willing to pay a premium, inventory may still not be available.
