SecondFi Update: Previously Offered White Hat Solution to Second Attacker, Proposal Received No Response
Foresight News reports that SecondFi has released an update on recovery progress, disclosing the background of a second attack related to the recent security incident. According to the announcement, shortly after the first vulnerability attack occurred, another third party, completely unrelated to the initial attacker, also exploited the same vulnerability, stealing approximately 4 million ADA and various Cardano native tokens from the affected user wallets.
SecondFi stated that about two weeks ago, the team contacted the attacker's wallet address directly via on-chain message and proposed a white-hat solution: requesting the return of 90% (approximately 3.618 million ADA and related tokens) to a designated recovery address, allowing the attacker to retain 10% (about 402,000 ADA) as a bounty. The deadline was set for July 11, 2026, at 7:59. The team said the deadline has passed but has not yet received a response from the attacker and stressed that this proposal does not waive their rights to continue the investigation, coordinate with third parties, or seek legal and law enforcement measures. Further updates will be announced through official channels.
