Ethereum to $22,000? Fundstrat and Tom Lee’s crypto forecast says YES!

Fundstrat’s Tom Lee is in the news today after he stated that the market may be underestimating the chances of the CLARITY Act passing. That’s not all though as he also believes Ethereum [ETH] could benefit from growth linked to AI, bringing his ETH predictions back into focus.

Prediction markets too cautious about the CLARITY Act?

In a recent post, Lee supported comments from Fundstrat’s Head of Digital Asset Strategy, Sean Farrell. The latter said that private discussions with policymakers were much more positive than the odds shown on Polymarket and Kalshi.

Farrell also questioned whether those markets accurately reflect informed expectations. He noted that liquidity remains limited, while newer restrictions prevent Senators and other political insiders from trading on outcomes connected to their work.

Lee argued that these rules may reduce the amount of informed activity reaching prediction platforms. As a result, traders may be placing too much confidence in the probabilities currently on display.

Ethereum’s AI case is strong

Alongside his CLARITY Act comments, Lee (who also chairs Bitmine) stated that ETH may be emerging as an “AI downstream” asset. This means, it could benefit from the applications built on top of AI infrastructure rather than from the chip and data-center boom itself.

At the time of writing, Fundstrat’s data also showed Ethereum gaining about 24% while a memory-focused ETF fell roughly 38%, creating a 62-point performance gap.

In fact, its ETH-to-DRAM measure has also risen over the past month.

AI trade may be moving beyond hardware. In Lee’s view, Ethereum could benefit as AI agents use stablecoins, tokenized assets, and machine-to-machine payments.

Is Lee’s $22K dream still distant?

At press time, ETH was trading near $1,933, having recovered from its June low of around $1,550. The daily RSI was at 65, and the CMF indicated that capital was moving into the market.

Ethereum’s Aggregated Open Interest was near $12.58 billion, while funding remained positive at 0.0048%. Longs still held an advantage too.

Lee expects ETH to hit $7,000-$9,000 first. His $12,000-$22,000 range depends on Bitcoin [BTC] reaching $250,000 and Ethereum recovering against BTC. That makes $22,000 possible only under a much stronger crypto rally.

For now though, sentiment has improved. However, not at the scale needed for Lee’s highest target.

Final Summary

  • Tom Lee believes Ethereum could benefit from AI adoption.
  • According to the exec, ETH can go as high as $22,000 in a stronger crypto rally.

US national debt nears $40 trillion, Bank of America’s Hartnett: Going long on gold is currently the optimal solution

U.S. Treasury debt is approaching the $40 trillion mark. Bank of America’s Hartnett believes that "going long on gold" is currently the optimal solution—gold is the best hedge against dollar depreciation, bond collapse, and political risk. Meanwhile, the AI financing frenzy has driven a 61% year-over-year surge in corporate bond supply, structurally crowding out Treasury buyers, and debt interest payments have reached $1.4 trillion. Hartnett warns that the outcome of the November elections will be the biggest variable determining market direction at the end of the year.
