Greeks.live: Crypto Options Market Low Volatility Could Be the New Norm
BlockBeats News, July 21st, Greeks.live reported that Bitcoin has rebounded to $66,000, which is a positive sign. Not only did it hit a new high in nearly two months, but it also re-entered the consolidation range since the beginning of the year.
The implied volatility (IV) for various major expiries has remained relatively stable. The IV for all expiries has been below 40% this year, indicating that investors have gradually adapted to this market environment of extremely low volatility.
During the sharp drop in February this year, the implied volatility for various major expiries once rose to above 50%. However, for most of this year, the IV has remained below 45%. This may indicate that low volatility is gradually becoming the new norm in the cryptocurrency options market.
