Payments giant Visa announced the launch of an enterprise platform that will allow banks, FinTech companies, and crypto projects to issue, store, transfer, and redeem stablecoins through a unified infrastructure managed by the payments network.

Visa, one of the world’s largest digital payments providers, announced the launch of Visa Stablecoin Platform (VSP), a new platform for stablecoin operations. The solution is designed for financial institutions, FinTech companies, and crypto service providers, offering a single environment for stablecoin minting, burning, storage, transfers, and management.

The first supported asset on the platform will be Open USD (OUSD), a stablecoin launched by Open Standard with support from more than 140 companies, including Visa. VSP will provide direct connectivity to the Open Standard infrastructure, allowing clients to mint, redeem, and transfer OUSD, while integrating stablecoin operations into existing treasury, settlement, and payment workflows.

One of VSP’s core features is its Wallet-as-a-Service offering, which provides ready-to-use infrastructure for on-chain wallets. The solution includes tools for access management, secure key storage, transfer policy configuration, and wallet integration with enterprise financial systems.

According to Jack Forestell, Visa’s Chief Product and Strategy Officer, the primary challenge for most financial institutions isn’t understanding the concept of stablecoins, but implementing them in real-world operations. The new platform is designed to provide clients with a single environment for managing stablecoin operations using the security and control mechanisms already established across Visa’s ecosystem.

The platform includes enterprise-grade security features, including:

  • dual-approval workflows;
  • audit logs;
  • secure passkeys for user authentication;
  • allow lists for transfer controls.

This approach allows financial institutions to use stablecoins for settlements and liquidity management while meeting enterprise security and governance requirements.

VSP is also interoperable with Visa’s existing digital asset offerings, including stablecoin settlement, stablecoin-linked cards, and cross-border money movement services. The platform will allow clients to integrate stablecoin capabilities into their existing payments infrastructure without redesigning current operational processes.

At this stage, Visa Stablecoin Platform, including its Wallet-as-a-Service offering, is available in closed beta to a limited group of clients. The company plans to use the results of the pilot program to shape its broader rollout strategy and commercial launch.

Earlier in 2026, Circle analysts concluded that stablecoins were gradually becoming part of the core financial infrastructure. Against that backdrop, Visa has continued expanding stablecoin capabilities and testing institution-grade confidential blockchain settlement solutions built on stablecoin infrastructure.

According to reports, Jane Street has recorded its first monthly loss in a decade, suffering a significant loss in July. However, its net trading income for the year still exceeds $40 billion and is likely to set a new annual record. The losses are not entirely due to its investment in Situational Awareness; its long positions in non-AI Asian stocks have also suffered. This week, Jane Street is advancing about $14.6 billion in bond financing, led by JPMorgan Chase and involving major institutional investors such as Pimco and Fidelity. To restructure its debt, Jane Street is shifting more debt to private markets and is even willing to bear significantly higher financing costs in exchange for reduced public disclosure.
