  • Deutsche Bank
  • Goldman Sachs
  • HSBC

How Is the XRP Ledger Being Used?

Ripple is working with JPMorgan, Mastercard, and Ondo Finance on projects involving tokenized U.S. Treasury assets using the XRP Ledger.

The report also said Mastercard is exploring payment and settlement systems that use both RLUSD and the XRP Ledger.

In addition, several global banks, including Santander, Standard Chartered, SBI Holdings, and CIBC, continue to use RippleNet for cross-border payment services.

What New Features Are Coming to the XRP Ledger?

Developers are preparing several updates that aim to make the XRP Ledger more useful for businesses and financial institutions.

The planned features include:

  • Batch transactions to process multiple transactions at once.
  • Confidential transfers to keep transaction amounts private while meeting regulatory requirements.
  • Sponsored fees that allow businesses to pay network fees for customers.
  • Permission delegation to give employees limited account access without sharing full wallet control.
  • Dynamic multi-purpose tokens with customizable settings.
  • Performance improvements to reduce memory usage and improve network efficiency.

These updates are designed to support tokenized assets, business payments, and enterprise blockchain applications.

Ripple Proposes Lending on the XRP Ledger

Ripple has also proposed a lending framework for the XRP Ledger.

If approved, the system would allow financial institutions to borrow against tokenized assets. It would also automate loan repayments, interest payments, and default management using blockchain technology.

The proposal is part of Ripple’s broader effort to expand the XRP Ledger beyond payments into lending and other financial services.
