(1) According to shipping data, due to heightened caution following the latest round of mutual attacks between the US and Iran, the number of vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz further decreased at the beginning of this week, with the number of bulk commodity ships passing on Monday dropping from seven the previous day to four. (2) These four ships mainly traveled along Iranian routes, with two tankers leaving the strait (one carrying petrochemical products and one empty) and two ships entering the strait (an asphalt carrier and a tanker). (3) On Monday, no Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs) or Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) carriers were seen passing through the strait, highlighting an increased risk-averse sentiment in high-value energy transportation.
