Glonghui, July 21|Legendary hedge fund manager and "Big Short" Michael Burry recently cut his Oracle short position by half, locking in some profits, but still retains the remaining bearish positions. In a trading record published on Substack on July 17, Burry stated that he has sold half of his Oracle put options expiring in January 2027, with strike prices around the mid-100 dollar range. Due to Oracle's stock price dropping sharply, the value of the put options increased, causing the overall risk exposure to become too large, so he decided to reduce his position. The market subsequently incorrectly reported that Burry had fully closed his positions, ending an Oracle short trade that lasted nearly half a year. Burry clarified that he reduced his position by half simply because the trade was going in the right direction and had achieved considerable profits, but he has not fully withdrawn his bearish bet.
