South Korean Stock Market Margin Balance Falls to Lowest Level Since April
BlockBeats News, July 21st, according to the data from the Korea Financial Investment Association, as of July 16th, the margin balance for stock purchases has decreased to 33.4 trillion Korean won (approximately $22.6 billion), the lowest level since April 15th. This number represents a 13% decline from the peak of 38.6 trillion Korean won at the end of June.
Other data indicates that the enthusiasm of retail investors in South Korea for stocks may be cooling off. According to the data from the Korea Financial Investment Association, investor deposits decreased to 108.1 trillion Korean won on July 16th, down from the peak of 139.7 trillion Korean won on June 4th.
