  • Polygon: Polygon 2.0 and Ethereum scaling strengthen long-term growth potential.
  • Uniswap: DeFi leadership and community governance support continued ecosystem expansion.
  • NEAR Protocol: Scalable architecture and developer-friendly tools drive growing blockchain adoption.

Savvy investors continue searching for projects with strong fundamentals before market momentum returns. While Bitcoin often leads major rallies, selected altcoins can deliver stronger gains during favorable conditions. Careful research helps separate long-term opportunities from short-lived trends. Polygon, Uniswap, and NEAR Protocol each bring unique strengths to blockchain technology. Growing ecosystems, active development, and practical use cases place all three projects among the altcoins worth following before the next major breakout.

Polygon (POL)

Polygon has become one of Ethereum’s strongest scaling networks. The project helps reduce congestion while lowering transaction costs for users and developers. Fast confirmation times also improve the overall experience across decentralized applications. Such advantages continue attracting developers searching for efficient blockchain infrastructure. Another important milestone involves the transition toward Polygon 2.0. That upgrade reflects a broader vision focused on improving network performance and expanding blockchain adoption. Developers continue building decentralized finance platforms, gaming projects, and business applications across the network. Growing activity strengthens confidence in future demand. Strong fundamentals also support long-term optimism. A large developer community continues improving network capabilities through regular updates. Ethereum’s expanding ecosystem creates additional opportunities for Polygon as demand for scaling solutions increases.

Uniswap (UNI)

Uniswap remains one of decentralized finance’s most recognized exchanges. The platform allows users to swap digital assets without relying on centralized intermediaries. Automated market maker technology keeps trading simple while giving liquidity providers opportunities to earn rewards. Such features helped establish Uniswap as a cornerstone of decentralized trading. Community governance adds another advantage. UNI holders participate in important decisions affecting future development. That governance model encourages transparency while allowing community members to influence network direction. Such participation strengthens long-term engagement across the ecosystem. Growing adoption of decentralized finance continues supporting Uniswap’s outlook. New protocols frequently integrate with the platform because of strong liquidity and trusted infrastructure.

NEAR Protocol (NEAR)

NEAR Protocol focuses on making blockchain technology easier for developers and everyday users. Advanced sharding technology improves scalability while keeping transaction fees low. Fast processing speeds also create a smoother experience across decentralized applications. Such efficiency attracts developers building applications that require reliable performance. Developer-friendly tools remain another major strength. Easy deployment encourages new projects while lowering technical barriers. Growing partnerships continue expanding ecosystem reach across multiple blockchain sectors. Those relationships help strengthen long-term adoption while supporting continued network development. Scalable architecture positions NEAR well for future demand. Continued innovation keeps attracting developers searching for efficient blockchain solutions.

Polygon, Uniswap, and NEAR each solve different blockchain challenges. Strong development and expanding ecosystems support long-term potential. Practical use cases continue attracting developers and investors alike. Those strengths make all three altcoins worth watching before the next breakout.

After Toshiba reported news of HDD production expansion, Morgan Stanley turned more bullish rather than bearish.

Morgan Stanley’s research indicates that the market has seriously overestimated Toshiba’s expansion scale — the doubling of capacity at its Philippines plant over two years translates to an annualized growth rate of about 30%, which is similar to the overall industry supply growth rate and far lower than demand growth. More importantly, channel checks show that Seagate and Western Digital have no intention of following suit with capacity expansion, and there are no signs of loosening in industry pricing.

Energy & Utilities Roundup: Market Talk

The latest Market Talks covering Energy and Utilities. Published exclusively on Dow Jones Newswires at 4:20 ET, 12:20 ET and 16:50 ET. 0637 GMT - SK Innovation is likely to benefit from higher lubricant base oil prices, LS Securities analyst K.H. Chung says. The South Korean refiner is a global leader in premium lubricant base oils, producing about 80,000 barrels of Group III base oils a day, Chung writes in a note. She expects the supply shortage of lubricant base oils to persist for more than a year. Tight supply of kerosene and diesel and wider refining margins could also continue to boost the company's earnings, she adds. LS Securities upgrades the stock to buy from hold and raises its target price to 187,000 won from 126,000 won. Shares end 2.6% higher at 158,000 won. (kwanwoo.jun@wsj.com) 0113 GMT - YTL Power International could see upside from its expanding data-center and AI infrastructure, as well as renewed power-generation opportunities, says Hong Leong IB analyst Daniel Wong in a note. Its Kulai and Sedenak West hubs offer 2.4GW of potential data-center capacity, while its AI-GPU capacity could scale to 100MW or more and support a new services business. The procurement of seven gas turbines totaling 5.25GW also positions YTL for power-generation growth and supports its expanding data-center pipeline, he reckons. Higher water tariffs and planned treatment plants at its unit Ranhill Utilities should support earnings as Johor's water demand rises, he adds. Hong Leong raises its target price to 8.08 ringgit from 7.58 ringgit and keeps a buy rating. Shares are 1.4% higher at 5.62 ringgit. (yingxian.wong@wsj.com) The price fetched by Amplitude Energy for its natural gas in 1Q should improve on the prior three months, supporting growth in revenue. That's the view of Bell Potter analyst Stuart Howe, who points to higher gas volumes in the quarter. Also, spot natural gas prices recovered to a quarterly average of A$9.77 per gigajoule, from A$8.42 per gigajoule in 4Q of FY26. Amplitude is due to report its 1Q p
