```htmlGolden Ten Data reported on July 13 that as the civil war in Sudan enters its fourth year, the European Union is expected to approve new trade restrictions targeting Sudan's gold industry. According to informed sources, these measures are based on an initiative by the Netherlands and France and are expected to be approved by foreign ministers of various countries on Monday. The sanctions include a ban on importing Sudanese gold as well as prohibiting the sale of cyanide and mercury to Sudan. In addition, these sanctions will restrict Sudan's ability to export gold to the EU via other countries. These restrictions are part of the EU's efforts to curb industries that could fuel the ongoing Sudanese civil war, which has continued since 2023. This will be the first time in months that the EU has imposed new sanctions on this often-overlooked conflict. The group has also sanctioned personnel from both sides of the conflict. A spokesperson for the European Commission has not yet responded to this matter.```
