GameStop continues to advance its approximately $56 billion acquisition plan for eBay, despite previous rejections
Odaily reported that GameStop announced last Friday it will proceed with its approximately 56 billion USD cash-and-stock acquisition offer for eBay, despite the eBay board previously rejecting the proposal. GameStop CEO Ryan Cohen made the acquisition proposal in May, stating that the merged company would be in a stronger position to challenge Amazon and expressed an interest in operating the new entity. Last Tuesday, GameStop said it would release detailed strategic presentation materials and reiterated on Friday that more materials related to the proposed transaction would be published soon.
