Glonghui, June 24th — GameStop's Board of Directors has approved a request from Chairman and CEO Ryan Cohen to withdraw a proposed CEO performance award plan from the company's proxy statement, as the retailer shifts its focus to a planned acquisition deal with eBay. The board initially approved the $35 billion performance award plan in January 2026, at which time GameStop had not yet decided to move forward with the eBay acquisition. Cohen stated that he hopes the management team can fully focus on GameStop's operational performance and the proposed transaction. On May 3 this year, GameStop submitted a non-binding acquisition proposal to eBay's Board of Directors, intending to acquire all outstanding common shares of eBay at a price of $125 per share.
