Glonghui, May 9 | Trung Huynh, an analyst at RBC Capital Markets, stated that Eli Lilly's new weight-loss drug Foundayo received 7,335 prescriptions in the U.S. during its fourth week on the market, a relatively moderate adoption rate compared to rival Novo Nordisk's Wegovy. Wegovy was launched in January and has a first-mover advantage in the oral weight-loss drug market, while Foundayo was only launched a few months later, in April. The analyst noted that although Foundayo’s prescription numbers are weaker, investors are beginning to see that the initial weekly prescription tracking data is no longer regarded as a key indicator of Foundayo’s future potential.
