GroLink News May 6|Bayer announced on Wednesday that it has agreed to acquire Perfuse Therapeutics, a pharmaceutical company specializing in the development of drugs for ophthalmic diseases, in a deal valued at up to $2.45 billion. Bayer stated that Perfuse's main candidate drug is an experimental therapy for treating glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy, which is currently in a mid-stage clinical trial. Bayer will pay an upfront fee of $300 million, with the remaining payments depending on the achievement of additional development, regulatory, and commercial milestones.
