As one of the proposals to end the war with Israel and the United States, Tehran has suggested imposing fees or tolls on vessels passing through the strait. According to a notice released by the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), the United States has taken note of Iran’s threats to shipping and its demand for payment in exchange for safe passage through the strait.
