Specter: A large number of Ethereum wallets created more than 5 years ago are being attacked, with losses exceeding $800,000
Foresight News reports, according to Specter monitoring, an ongoing attack is targeting Ethereum wallets created 4 to 8 years ago, with losses estimated to have already exceeded $800,000. This attack may involve private key leaks, most likely resulting from wallet providers' private keys being compromised, though the precise source of the leak has not yet been identified. The attacker has stolen assets from hundreds of wallets, deposited 2 Ethereum into an exchange, and bridged 324.741 Ethereum to trade for Bitcoin. Currently, assets worth around $66,000 remain in the EVM wallets.
