Jinse Finance reported that on April 16, the U.S. super PAC Sentinel Action Fund (supported by Solana Institute) has pledged to invest $8 million to support Republican Senate candidate Jon Husted in the upcoming November midterm elections. The super PAC stated on Wednesday that it plans to join forces with its sister advocacy organization Right Vote to contribute this $8 million to back Husted’s campaign. Jon Husted has been an active supporter of crypto innovation. An advocacy group has rated him as "strongly pro-crypto" based on his previous statements, and he also endorses several key pro-crypto legislative initiatives, including the GENIUS Act. In a statement, Husted called for the establishment of a “digital asset framework conducive to innovation” and stated that digital asset technology represents “the next wave of economic opportunity for working families.” Husted’s opponent is Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown, who has long been an outspoken critic of the crypto industry. Notably, Brown has advocated for stronger crackdowns on the use of cryptocurrencies for financing terrorism and evading sanctions. Brown has lost his Senate seat in the 2024 election.
