Golden Ten Data reported on April 9 that Germany's Federal Statistical Office stated on Thursday that German industrial production unexpectedly fell in February, and energy price shocks caused by the Middle East conflict are expected to further suppress output. Industrial production in February fell by 0.3% month-on-month; after an upward revision, January data was flat. The market widely expected a 0.5% increase in February. The decline in output in February was mainly due to reductions in the construction sector, as well as electronic and optical products and the pharmaceutical industry. In contrast, the Federal Statistical Office noted that automobile production increased after a sharp decline in January this year.
