Crude stockpiles increased by 3.1 million barrels in the past week - EIA
Weekly U.S. Oil Market Update
For the week ending April 3, 2026, U.S. refineries processed an average of 16.3 million barrels of crude oil per day, marking a decrease of 129,000 barrels per day compared to the previous week. Refinery utilization stood at 92% of total capacity.
Gasoline output declined, with production averaging 9.4 million barrels per day. In contrast, distillate fuel production saw an uptick, reaching an average of 5.0 million barrels per day.
Crude oil imports into the United States averaged 6.3 million barrels per day last week, down by 130,000 barrels per day from the prior week. Over the past month, the average daily crude oil imports were approximately 6.6 million barrels.
