Bitget CEO: US Stock Market Plunge Accelerates Repricing of Macro Risks, Bitcoin Shows Resilience
Foresight News reported that, in response to the sharp drop in U.S. stocks today, where the market lost over 1 trillion dollars in value in a single day, Bitget CEO Gracy Chen pointed out that this round of correction reflects the accelerated pace at which global markets are repricing macro risks. As rising oil prices have reignited inflation concerns, the impact of geopolitical changes is no longer confined to the energy market but is beginning to more directly influence global capital allocation.
Gracy believes that, under these circumstances, Bitcoin will remain highly volatile in the short term. However, compared to previous periods of rapidly declining risk appetite, Bitcoin's performance this time has been relatively resilient. This reflects a significant drop in overall leverage within the crypto market, thereby limiting the scale of forced liquidations that typically amplify downside pressure during stressed market conditions. This relative resilience signals something more noteworthy: in an increasingly fragmented macro environment, Bitcoin is starting to be regarded by some portfolios as a more neutral allocation option.
