JUNO BEACH, Fla. , March 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- NextEra Energy, Inc. (NYSE: NEE), the largest energy infrastructure builder in the United States, confirmed today that President Donald J. Trump has approved the development of up to 10 gigawatts of natural gas‑powered generation in Texas and Pennsylvania.

The approval, made in connection with Japan's $550 billion investment commitment to the United States as part of the U.S.-Japan trade deal, positions NextEra Energy to work with the administration to develop reliable, large-scale power infrastructure to support America's growth and technological leadership. The investment is subject to negotiation and execution of definitive documents by NextEra Energy and various constituents, as well as NextEra Energy's completion of development, construction and commissioning of the selected projects. The projects, which would be owned jointly by Japan and the U.S. under the structure of the joint trade agreement, would be built and operated by NextEra Energy.

Powering America and protecting affordability:
The projects, which include NextEra Energy's previously disclosed Texas hub developed in coordination with Comstock Resources, are designed to support growing electricity demand, strengthen the U.S. industrial base and serve large‑scale users, including data centers and advanced manufacturing. The projects would be structured so that new electricity demand is met with new generating resources, intended to avoid upward pressure on electricity bills for Americans.

A word from John Ketchum, chairman, president and CEO of NextEra Energy:
"America needs more power, and NextEra Energy is ready to deliver. For more than a century, we have built the energy infrastructure that powers America's growth. Our hub strategy is designed to scale quickly and support rising demand while strengthening America's energy security—without increasing electricity costs for American households. We are pleased that our Texas and Pennsylvania hubs have been selected to advance the President's goal of American energy dominance."

NextEra Energy's hub strategy:
The projects selected today are drawn from our existing inventory of hub development assets. The company's hub strategy is built on the value of scale. NextEra Energy currently has close to 30 hubs in its inventory at various stages of development and is working toward a target of approximately 40. The company believes that its hub strategy can reduce development timelines and execution risk—helping customers keep costs low while meeting growing power demand.

Next steps:
NextEra Energy will continue to advance development activities, including working toward definitive documentation with various constituents and engaging with potential customers, while coordinating closely with federal, state and local stakeholders

The Shopify Stock Rally Isn't Done: Chart of the Week -- Barrons.com

By Doug Busch Shopify is no longer a pandemic-era growth story that simply failed to slow down. It is compounding at a pace few software platforms its size still manage. In the second quarter of 2026, sales on its platform rose 32%. That was the fifth straight quarter of growth exceeding 30%. Merchants are also using more of Shopify's own tools, from payments to Shop Pay, and new channels like AI shopping agents are starting to increase demand. The simple bull case is that the stock already commands a huge share of independent online commerce, and that position should become more valuable as more buying moves through its checkout. A rule of market mechanics is that the vast majority of an individual security's gain is driven by its underlying sector. Within technology, software has staged a robust recovery, joining semiconductors to power the broader sector higher. The iShares Expanded Tech-Software Sector ETF has maintained an upward trajectory since its mid-April lows, though the advance from $74 to $112 has been choppy as bulls repeatedly stepped in to defend when necessary. Breadth across large-cap software has expanded significantly, with 24 constituents surging over 20% over the past three months. During that same three-month window, Shopify generated outstanding relative strength, advancing 36%, more than doubling the IGV's 17% gain over the same period. Expect the stock's outperformance to persist as software momentum broadens. Let's examine the daily and monthly charts to outline the technical drivers behind this thesis. Looking at the daily chart, the ratio chart against the IGV shows persistent outperformance extending back to mid-May. The stock is riding an eight-session winning streak, during which price action cleared a double-bottom-with-handle pivot at $151.39. Within this broader base, the stock recorded a bullish golden cross in late August and successfully filled its Sept. 10 price gap, tracing back to its Aug. 4 session, the day before a powerful earnings reaction sent the stock surging 17% hi
