CertiK attends DC Blockchain Summit: Focusing on crypto security and regulatory collaboration, warning of cross-chain bridge and supply chain attack risks
Foresight News reported that Web3 security company CertiK attended the DC Blockchain Summit in the United States. Its Chief Brand Officer, Jason Jiang, participated in a panel discussion, engaging in an in-depth conversation on crypto infrastructure security and industry regulation.
Referencing data from CertiK's "2025 Skynet Hack3D Report," Jason pointed out that smart contract vulnerabilities remain the largest attack surface, while cross-chain bridges, due to their highly concentrated liquidity, have become the primary high-value targets for hackers. "In 2025, supply chain attacks caused the most severe losses, with just two incidents resulting in losses exceeding $1.45 billion; 240 phishing attacks became the most frequent type of attack last year." He also warned that the complex verification mechanisms of cross-chain bridges and the uneven security standards within the industry are emerging as core risks threatening the stability of the crypto ecosystem. Regarding incident response, Jason emphasized that the design of relevant regulatory frameworks should focus on supporting responsible vulnerability disclosure, security technology research, and cross-industry collaboration, rather than delaying response efficiency.
During the summit, Jason Jiang also engaged in discussions with several U.S. lawmakers, exploring the future development of market structure, how traditional banks can adapt to the new crypto paradigm, and ways to strengthen consumer protection and address fraud risks. The discussions particularly focused on the collaborative role of technology service providers and law enforcement agencies in preventing fraud, combating crime, and protecting consumer rights.
